Using the datalogger to test for carbon dioxide. 22 April 2009

Lim kou: The experiment is very fun and interesting.

Jamie: I think that the experiment was a success as the graph on the datalogger was on the right track. The datalogger was testing whether plants need carbon dioxide to do photosynthesis.

lim kou: First we stick the leaf on the bottle and Jamie blowed carbon dioxide into the bottle. Then we put the CO2 sensor into the bottle and we see whether the carbon dioxide will rise or fall.

Jamie: The graph on the datalogger rose a little and started to drop. When it rose, it meant that there is carbon dioxide in the bottle and when it dropped, it meant that the leaf is taking in the carbon dioxide.

Ignatius: I think the sunflower is going to grow healthily as it is 30cm tall and has 11 leaves. Its stem was also hard and thick.
Jamie: I would hope to see the flower growing next week.
Ignatius:I hope that the flower would continue to grow.

PDCA

Jamie: I think the experiment was not considered as a failure, there was a green strip of colour and a few red dots on the rose but there was no change of colour for the carnation.

Jamie: My prediction did not come true as maybe the xylem had been cut off or we added too much water.
